George has served as poster child for specialty coffee since I remember. He used to own Boston's Coffee Connection. I literally routed my international travel through Boston so I could stop at the Coffee Connection. George has a reputation for spending more on a coffee than he charges for it. Lately, he seems to be buying only first-place award winning coffees. George is like a chef who buys only the best. Even his blends seem like two expensive coffees. Didn't anyone tell him that you don't make a profit that way? I'm convinced there are enough people who just want to support him as an artist to keep him forever in business, but he'll never convince me he went to business school. Meanwhile, he is known to roast his coffee like Sushi -- that is just enough to call it roasted, but no more. He is doing cutting-edge things like having his green beans shipped in foil and freezing green beans, but he did something in our DVD I didn't expect him to – he provides perhaps the most balanced overview of several issues. He's an example of what I mean.
