There are always people who seem to be behind-the-scenes movers and shakers and that's Donald. I met him through Ian Bersten who suggested Donald as a source on an article and, ever since, I've phoned him regularly for advice, usually before I leaped into a deal or jumped on a bandwagon. I've found his input invaluable. I ran my list of other experts by Donald before I committed to anyone -- he was the first person I talked to about doing this video. Donald brews automatic drip, which I knew would be the most scrutinized segment in the show. True to his neutral nature, Donald covered up the brand name on his brewer. It's just how fair he is. Donald knows more coffee industry history than anyone I’ve met and he's been a mentor to me. He also makes a great pot of automatic drip coffee, as you'll see in the program. By the way, that wagon wheel grinder sitting behind him is worth more than my car.
